2023 Rules

Objective

We'll sample 24 different AMERICAN whiskeys (80 Proof or greater) during the Advent Season - December 1 through 24.

Teams

This year, we have 9 participants arranged in 8 TEAMS.:

• SEVEN teams will have ONE participant

• ONE team will have TWO participants

Budgets

Also new in 2023, TEAMS will be assigned a BUDGET with which to buy THREE bottles.  The BUDGET is $120 per PARTICIPANT:

• 1 participant teams have a budget of $120

• 2 participant teams have a budget of $240

Draft 

We'll get together to do a Fantasy-style draft.  The draft order will be decided randomly before draft night.

Picks will be done snake style:

• Round 1 - Teams from 1 - 8

• Round 2 - Teams from 8 - 1

• Round 3 - Teams from 1 - 8

New in 2023, rounds are not assigned a dollar range, picks can be made freely regardless of price.

The pick order determines the date of the selected whiskey. 

Bottles - Blind

If you haven't already, purchase two packs of these bottles.

You may also want to buy a measuring cup and funnel to make pouring easier.

Each team need to prepare 9 pours of each of your three whiskeys.  Each pour SHALL BE 2.5 OUNCES.

Each bottle should be labeled ONLY with the pick number (i.e. Pick 1, etc.).

All bottles have to be delivered to Steve by Nov 28th so they can be randomized by a neutral third party, relabeled with a date, and redistributed by Dec 1st.

Reviews/comments

The SURVEY page will provide a form so that you can rate each whiskey and add tasting notes for future reference.
