Whiskey Advent Calendar Rules

How it works

Objective

We'll sample 24 different AMERICAN whiskeys during the Advent Season (December 1 through 24). This year, we have 8 participants, each picking 3 bottles to share as follows.

Draft

We'll get together to do a Fantasy-style draft. The draft order will be decided randomly on draft night - picking in order, snake style. The pick order determines the date of the selected whiskey. In order to avoid duplicates, last year's page is linked in the Archive section below. PLEASE BE PREPARED WITH A FEW DIFFERENT OPTIONS FOR EACH PRICE RANGE SO THE DRAFT GOES SMOOTHLY.

Price ranges are as follows:

First round: ~$20
Second round: ~$40
Third round: ~$60 (or more)

Bottles

If you haven't already, purchase this pack of bottles: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B06Y5XPBZZ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1. You may want 24 bottles, just remember you'll be getting as many as you're giving.

You may also want to buy a measuring cup and funnel to make pouring easier.

You'll need to prepare 7 (or 8 if you want one for yourself) 3 ounce pours of your three whiskeys.

Each bottle should be labeled with the date, whiskey, and any other details you wish (proof, year, picture of the bottle, etc.) - be as creative as you want.

We'll try to get together in person to exchange bottles. Given that it's the holiday season, it might not be possible for everyone to make it. If that's the case, you'll need to make arrangements so that everyone has your bottles on time.
